I'm 21 weeks preg. and having this severe pain in my abdomin everyday for two weeks now. The dr. said go to the hospital because they couldn't see me for some reason. The hospital sent me home after an hour and said take tylenol (which doesn't do anything). They wouldn't let me see the OB/GYN dr. on call or anything. i can't take this pain anymore. I can barely move, barely drive my car etc. I can't pick up my 1 1/2 yr. old daughter, do simple things like walk to the mail box or up and down stairs.
the pain is not on either side of my abdomin, it's in the area below my belly button so it's not round ligament pain because there are no ligaments in this area. (consulted an anatomy teacher at the college).
I'm at my wits end and no one will help me. the baby is moving everyday. I would just hate to think it's my old c-section scar on my uterus causing problems.
Please only those who have had more than one baby respond. Thanks

yikes, i don't know what to tell you other than to keep trying, call an ambulance if that is what it takes for the hospital to take a look at you. It could be very serious......

Clear your mind and get a second opinion from an OBGYN or fertility specialist, don't hesitate. It's YOUR body. This new doctor doesn't have to be your regular doctor, just a second opinion.

It may be nothing, it may be something. Pregnancy is a strange thing on our bodies.

My 3rd pregnancy I had intense pain 30 weeks, but it was not below my belly button (I had a prior c-section also), it was my cervix and it hurt like hell.
Basically, if it hurts, sit down and relax (sounds like it doesn't hurt so much) and make that appointment for a different doctor. Believe me it's worth it.
Oh yeah and have them check the size of your cervix to be sure it's not short. You may need bedrest until the baby comes, that's what I needed.

i can do ya one better...i've had two children both by c-section and they were 2 years apart to the day!!

but i never had any pain b/c of my first c-section. if your regular doctor refuses to see you for any reason, i'd find a new doctor. any kind of pain in your abdomen would be cause for major concern!! since you're still feeling the baby move, that's a good thing, you know you're not miscarrying or anything like that. and i would go back to the ER and refuse to leave until you were seen by a doctor if the pain really is that severe. that's very scary!!

good luck!!

I would personally get a new Dr. or atleast a 2nd opinion. That doesn't sound right to have cramping that bad. You may be right about your c-section scar, but as I am not a Dr. and can't tell you for sure. Congrats on the baby and Hope everything goes well

I know how you feel. I have been having the same pains and I have had a previous c-section. The doctor told me he thinks that it is my uterus pulling against the scar tissue and he also told me there is nothing I can do for it and to prepare for it to get worse. not the greatest news I wanted to hear, but it is better than knowing it is something wrong. Good luck!

My guess is that it is your csection scar. Go to your doctors office and wait or a different hospital and demand to see a ob/gyn. This is your body and baby someone has to listen to you.

See a Doctor right away. If your doctor won't see you, find someone else. Abdominal pain should not be ignored during pregnancy.

It sounds like a hernia. I would go to another clinic or select another dr. At any rate if it is a hernia there is absolutely nothing they can do for you if your pregnant. Hernia's require outpaitent surgery or prescriptions both of which you can't have.

good grief!!! u need to INSIST on being seen, u know your own body better than any expert, if it doesn't feel right, then its probably not. Get yourself down to ER NOW and tell them u are not going ANYWHERE until u have a proper checkover. Good luck hun
