On a 96 Saturn SC2, it has the flip up headlights. On the passenger side, when the light is flipping up, the light is on, but as soon as its all the way up, it cuts off. The brights still work on both lights. Do I just need a new headlight?

Good chance that the head =light is burnt out but it could be wiring also. You'll need test for power and grounds at the headlight. Pull the connector off the back of the headlight and use a test light hook to ground to test for power. If you have power then move the test light to power and probe the other outlet on the connector for ground. I know there are three out let one is ground two are power One for high beam one for low beam . you'll have to test all three. If you have powers and grounds then it should be the headlight. Quick test is to buy a headlight unplug the bad one and plug the new one in.Most time this can be done with remove the headlight .Good luck and I hope I helped

Check the wiring that leads away from the bulbs, you may need to reinsulate/repair a wire. If the bulb was burnt out, it wouldn't be on at all. It sounds like as the motor is flipping the light up, a wire is losing contact.

not confident what you advise with techniques from utilizing a load, yet right it is what to do. turn lighting fixtures on. examine voltage at susceptible gentle. this is going to likely be lower than 12v. examine voltage at fuse (headlights frequently have a fuse for each gentle). if 12v, situation is between fuse and gentle. If voltage is same as voltage at gentle, prob is between battery and fuse. The very last time i fastened this kind of it replaced into undesirable connection on the fuse.pull the fuse, look on the contacts on the fuse and interior the holes that the fuse got here from. good luck.
