You could connect a router to the dsl modem and then connect the laptop to the router. If you don't have a wireless adapter on your computer.
If you want the laptop to be wireless and you have a wireless adapter built in to your computer then you can get a wireless router and foolow the instalation instructions, hook it up to the DSL modem and press fn and F2 to turn your wireless adapter on when the computer detects your wireless router click connect and enter the password and you are ready.
If you don't have a built in wireless adapter you can buy one and install it on your laptop either in your PC card slot or Usb port.
If you don't feel comfortable doing this you can call the telephone company and for a fee they will bring out the neccessary equiptment and install your network for you.
