I currently live in Valley Forge and work in Center City Philadelphia. The daily to and fro commute on the Schuylkill expressway is horrible. Is there a clean suburb close to Philly with an easy commute into the city in the morning and out of the city in the evening? I am open to any place in PA or DE and a commute time of upto 25 minutes. Any suggestions?

How about the Conshohocken/Lafayette Hill/Plymouth Meeting area. It's really accesible to all of the major highways but also easy to get into the city via back roads. These are really nice areas just minutes from Manayunk and Chestnut Hill. Major attractions include Fayette Street in Conshohocken, the Plymouth Mtg Mall, and great schools.

If you are up for taking the train, the R5 goes to Chester County where it's pretty nice..I would say up to Downingtown, and it's really not a bad amount of time on the train either..Exton is nice...

Glen Mills is a nice place, in Delaware County pretty close to the Blue Route without the feeling of being anywhere near the city, many quiet wooded parks..great homes..

It depends on when you are driving to work though...the earlier in the morning--the better the traffic on the blue route..

good luck!

Why not Jersey? Taxes and insurance in NJ are just as bad as PA, but we don't have 76. Places like Haddonfield, Collingswood, Cherry Hill...many spots you don't even need a car to get to, you can just use PATCO to get to work. Even driving back and forth isn't that bad. I work in Cherry Hill and live in Center City, and even in traffic, the commute isn't half as bad as 76.
