Doesn't offend me at all - but then I have always celebrated Christmas.
I have no idea why people get all bent out of shape about this. We aren't having pogroms or anything - just a bit of tinsel. Everyone is so mixed and multicultural these days anyways - I really think that the people who protest are just wanting some attention. Sort of like the atheists who protest that American money says "God" on it ....does it really matter? Most atheists, Christians/Catholics and Jews that I know and am related to could really care less. We just enjoy the parties and the season in general.
And forget the whole "christian nation thing" - it's traditional in our country so just let it alone. The holidays, whichever one a person celebrates, are supposed to be a happy peaceful time of year. Protesting something like this is silly and counterproductive.
Oh and for Lotus, it is spelled menorah not minora
Just live and let live and enjoy the shiny lights :) Merry almost Christmas to ya!

I always say Merry Christmas. I cannot stand those people who are offended by Merry Christmas. Face it. Even the word holiday (as in Happy Holidays) is just like the word holy day...kind of funny, huh?
Merry Christmas everyone!

some businesses are so petrified of offending non-Christians that they thoroughly ban Christmas from their shops. you will locate no decorations, no Christmas wood, or lighting fixtures furnishings in those businesses. quite they are going to frequently have vast grotesque cardboard posters emphasizing "the present'. And ironically those self comparable shops that instruct their workers to not say "Merry Christmas" might have piped in Christmas song taking section in on condition that the October. What those idiots do not understand is they're offending 70% of the inhabitants via banning Christmas (diverse than for the present section). Ditto for government officers that are scared to gentle a Christmas tree indoors the city sq. or ban the words Christmas or Jesus from college. I have no subjects seeing Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or diverse non secular or cultural symbols in a keep. yet whilst a business enterprise business enterprise hides Christmas, i'm going to cover my Christmas determining to purchase money from them.

It's just people being oversensitive about "political correctness". While Christmas has been given a 'religious' significance by Christians, the "holy day" is actually borrowed from the pagan ritual of Yule and has more to do with the winter solstice and winter in the Northern hemisphere. The (Catholic) church of the time just decided it was easier to convert Germanic tribes by giving their rituals Christian trappings.
(Christmas hams are representative of the sacrifice of a pig to Freyr, Christmas dinner is reminiscent of the Yule feast, and the festive nature of the season has echoes of "Yule-Joy" celebrations. The timing of Yule - Winter for the Northern Hemisphere - also suggests that the ritual included elements of 'survival behaviour' for families and communities of the time.)
The fact remains, if you want to wish others well for the season, then go right ahead. If they get bent out of shape, then they are focussing on the wrong message - and it's not your fault they don't "get it"...

Maybe because you work at a Jewish school????
Look, America despite populare belief IS NOT a Christian nation. It has freedom for and from all religions. So, when a Jewish person walks through the National Airport and sees no signs of a minora its insulting. Celebrate the entirety of the holiday season. You only wanna celebrate Christmas nationally, move to a Christian nation.
Jeez, finally the Jews are speaking up. Next it will be Kwanzaa in the house.
Happy Yule.
