could it be metal machine music? it is a lou reed recording that is exactly sixty-four minutes long and consists solely of loud shrieking guitars. i own a cd release of it!

Octavarium is only 24 minutes long!
Fantomas have an album that is one track and lasts for 1 hour 14 minutes, 16 seconds. It's called Delirium Cordia and it is terrifying!

I don't think there is. The longest metal/hard rock song I've ever heard was the studio recording of the Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again"

The closest I can think of is "Crimson" by Edge of Sanity which is 40 minutes long.
