I moved from California to Georgia 15 years ago and feel as if I live in paradise. North Georgia is beautiful, it snows a little and it is very affordable by California standards. A very nice house here will cost 250,000. A decent house can still be found in the 100,000 to 150,000 range and you can find property for under 5000 an acre. I live in the middle part of the state and love it. I can't wait to get back when I have to go to California to visit family.

Probably ether Kentucky or Indiana! In Those two we get snow but not a lot!The temperature is always Great! But it's a BIG BIG change from California! But somewhere around those two are the best in my eyes! Everywhere else it's either too hot or two cold! Preferably Western Kentucky! Eastern Kentucky just isn't as great! here it's just calm peaceful and you'll enjoy the beauty of the country!

I just moved to California...lol. The whole world sucks in one way or another. Their is ALWAYs going to be something you dislike. However an area I did like was Washington. A little bit cheaper then California and if your in the right area theirs snow. Also I really liked New York, however if you think California is expensive; New York is going to be a whole different ball game! Wisconsin is not to bad, however its far to cold for me.

Brockport NY - great house prices, snow off the lake, lots of single guys and good jobs -- and you'll be close to Lake Ontario, Rochester, friendly people, vegetable and fruit stands in the late summer and fall, a state university, a neat town with a Wegman's grocery store, a terrific school system, lots of history including part of the Erie Canal, and the beauties of NY State right at your doorstep. Oh, and NYC isn't that far away.

(I grew up near there.)

There's also Hillary Clinton....

P.S. The person who mentioned Colorado is very convincing and right on target too.

Colorado

Forbes called it the number one singles city in the country

It is one of the healthiest cities in the country (can you say good looking people for you to meet)

It snows AND it is one of the sunniest states in the country. Great weather

Great activities, skiing, hiking, biking etc.

Great city and its growing. Transportation is being built with the new Union Station project and the downtown rocks

Three professional sporting arenas within walking distance of downtown

Great park system and a state with tons of natural beauty

Nice people, down to earth and fun

If you have questions let me know or drop me a line. I also have a blog about what is going on in the city you can check out at http://www.theurbanbrain.com/blog .

Great place to raise children too. I am getting married in June and my fiancee and I will be starting to go down that road soon (we are just practicing now :) )

Good luck, and I have spent enough time in CA to know how much better it is here.

I want to move to East Tennessee. Beautiful rolling hills. Some snow but not massive blizzards. I don't know about schools in the area. Reasonable priced land/housing. Nice people.

It sure ain't Illinois. The weather sucks, and the jobs are scarce. It's affordable to live here, because people can barely afford to live. Oh yeah, and don't forget how the power company is getting ready to raise the cost by 54%. There's something to look forward to, seeing how you need heat for about 6 months out of the year.
