Yes Virginia...

There is a Santa Claus. He exists certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! How dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus! There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence. We should have no enjoyment, except in sense and sight. The eternal light which childhood fills the world would be extinguished.

Since 'The Santa Clause' is a movie from 1994, yes it is real, you can buy the DVD from http://www.amazon.com/Santa-Clause-Widescreen-Special/dp/B000068TQV

If your talking about the big red jolly guy himself: 'Santa Claus', yes he is as real as apple pie is good, because I've seen him in the sky in Christmas Eve of 2005. Rest assure it wasn't a UFO or aeroplane. I could see Rudolfs red nose.

I hope you have sent him your wish list already.

His address is:

Santa Claus
North Pole

You need no stamps!

Nope. The speed that Santa's sleigh would have to be moving at is greater than 50,000 mph. The way Santa's sleigh supposedly looks like would offer no protection for him. At this great speed, his face would literally melt over time. Even if it wasn't built like we imagine it, the g force alone would kill him.

The reality of Santa is the same as the reality that Jesus was the son of God. Both were historical figures who became mythological figures. Santa is at least based on a real saint, so we are more certain of who he is.

he was at one time but he died and people just kept secretly giving gifts anyway pretending to be Santa. this is what people need to tell their kids instead of lying to them.
