this all comes after my old line manager moved to another store and now this over powered ***** does nothing but have ago at people for no reason and makes out she all that

I work with a person like that. No one else will have anything to do with her, so I get stuck with her all the time because I'm the only one that can co-exist peacefully with her. I don't really like having to put up with her ego, but the way I handle it is that I smile, remind myself that I need the money and take comfort in the fact that it's only for a few hours. It's not like I'm handcuffed to her 24/7. I also try to put myself in her shoes and have come to the realization that she's a very insecure person. It's probably very hard to have to live like that. I'm secure enough with myself to sit back and let her have her ego trip.

I don't know how much my situation is like yours, but it does seem like your co-worker is a very insecure person. Pity her; it's got to be hard on her and her family. Be the better person. Don't go out of your way to annoy her. Don't go and act like her best buddy, but be pleasant. It's only for a few hours a day. In the end, you'll come out looking and feeling like the better person.
