i was wondering how it is different from a regular ultrasound. i am six months and on the ultrasound i had done in the office it showed that the baby has kidney reflux and a cyst on his kidney. i was just wondering what to expect. thanks.

A level 2 looks JUST like a regular one...the average person wouldn't even know the difference by looking at it. It isn't like going for a 3D.

However, a level 2 is more able to get more accurate/specific measurements and things like that...more detailed.

I had a level two ultrasound and it was the only one i had. One of my triple screen test came out high so we were checking for spinal or brain dysfunction. I did not see where it was that much better or different. It was not 3D or in color. I just had a special doctor in a special lad do it. It was scary just having to have it because of what i could find out, but everything was fine. Nothing to be concerned with, normal ultrasound

I had the more detailed ultrasound and they realy look in a lot more detail. They did a fetal physical and measured his heart rate adn blood velocity and all kind of things.

A bit intimidating but, he a big now and everything is ok.

Hope all goes well.
