Sadly, this is the situation in this world at this time, and it crosses cultural, racial and all economic lines ....
The blame is to be laid right at the feet of those warped 'laws' that have the altruistic goal of 'protecting children' -- protecting them from what is the REAL QUESTION ...
'protecting' them from the REAL WORLD of DEATH -- its finality -- that there is no such thing as reset and another "life"?
Glorifying Violence, rape, murder and domestic violence ... in the forms of 'entertainment'?
Having little support for parents that say "NO" to the child -- for they can be brought up on charges .... all the child/teen has to do is LIE ... and then the parents have their rights taken away ...
Too much the 'fast' solution to any problem -- fast food, fast entertainment, video games, 'news' bites -- summaries and the like -- there is no patience -- no way to provide the EXAMPLE to the children ... about what HARD WORK and legitimate EARNINGS brings ...
Cultures that do NOT value Education ,, Hard Work ... Respect for Elders (which is sadly going away -- have you listened to the way young people speak today) ..
Children and Teens that commit heinous crimes (like Beating/Whipping/Assaulting their Parents/Grandparents, or other relatives -- murders, armed robberies, etc) and they are turned back out on the general public as soon as they are booked (by bleeding heart liberal laws that don't hold them RESPONSIBLE for their Heinous choices).
People looking the other way, as a youth robs, beats, abuses an elder ...
And, of course, there are the selfish ones who are parents and just do NOT care ... letting their children run amok ... no rules, no caring limits, no restrictions on their behaviors -- just let them drink, smoke, do drugs, and emulate these horrible behaviors to their children ...

Yes, I believe society is partially at fault for school shootings. But I also think parents are partially at fault also.
I believe society is partially to blame, because we have become a society who is more interested in getting what we want, than helping others. We shun people who are "different" and sometimes verbally abuse them. I believe parents are partially at fault because most of us have become too involved in making money, than paying attention to our children. Shouldn't a parent know that their child has an arsenal hidden in the house? I also believe that the ones doing the school shootings had mental problems, and no one cared enough to see that.
I don't think school shootings have a certain society, just like drugs in school. It happens everywhere.

Of course. Society is comprised of the individuals that live in it. These individuals are responsible for the well-being of each member of the society in general, whether they like it or not. Most people have chosen to become part of a work force to generally help others in society (even though the society is set up in a capitalistic economic model--forcing its members to work for survival).
lets take America. The President is responsible for the well-being of the nation. The President is not a dictator, but elected by the individuals of a society to function as main care-taker of the society and its interests in toto. However, within America, we have states, and each state has a governor. Each governor is responsible for the maintenance of their individual state and the well being of its constituents. Similarly, each state has various cities, each with their own mayor.
However, the question of fault has to be divided into separate sections.
1) Fault for access of guns (private owners/friend perhaps)
2) Fault for access to school grounds with a weapon (school personnel)
3) Fault for raising this child with such bad morals (parents)
4) Fault for not supervising child and picking up on trouble "tells" or telling others of the concern (friends, family members, school personnel)
5) Fault for inciting an individual to do such things (internet, friends)

Society has so much to do with school shootings. We live in a society of selfishness and personal interest. Few young people are encouraged to look out for their peers, but encouraged to be better than everyone at something. We are saturated with violent television and video games that just make me grimace. We neglect to see the people around us that are hurting, that we are hurting. We neglect to realize how much violence sticks with us even from a movie. It occurs in a society that does not reach out to it's fellows, in a society where sick enjoyment overtakes thoughtfulness

No. Kids have a mind of their own and society is not a part of every thing that can go wrong. I feel and I believe that most of you school shooting occur in mostly all white school. Black kids shoot each other on the street not in the schools. White kids if they can't get their way they will even shoot their own parents.

1) I believe that society is completely at fault for school shootings.
2) Society shuns teaching children responsibility from a young age by going overboard to "protect" them. Because of this overprotectiveness, children often don't understand that death is forever. They carry this attitude into adulthood.
3) Any society that goes overboard protecting people from basic facts of life (ie, death, sexuality, violence) and lacks proper discipline.
