Which one is better and why? Since 2 was basically a remake of 1.

Evil Dead. 2 was good, and Ash was a lot bolder, but 1 was so damn creepy for being so low-budget! Great question!
"Good? Bad? I'm the guy with gun."

Evil Dead 1 is a better movie as far as story goes but as far as effects and acting Evil Dead 2 is better. That is a hard one to decide though, I am gonna say 2 though because Ash became Bad Ash in that one. He is the man we all know of with the chainsaw hand and boomstick, in 1 he is a whiner baby (if anyone saw Bruce Campbell in sky high you'll know the reference)

Evil Dead 1 is the better horror movie. Evil Dead 2 is the better movie in terms of classic Raimi campy humor thrown in.

Evil Dead 2!

It was the remake plus more budget and plus he cuts off his friggin' hand. It also seems as though half way through Sam Raimi was like o.k. f' this lets put some comedy in here and then Ash just trips out and the cabin "comes to life"

Evil Dead the original was just awesome and done on a shoe string budget. It was creepy and funny and didn't need the added effects to be a great movie.

Evil Dead. Come on it's all about the slap stick horror. Not effects and acting.

Agreed. The first is better I think, although the scene with Bruce Campbells hand is the best of the series.

evil dead1 by far the best. it was a really scary movie to me and hardly spent any money on it. a few of the graphics were a little cheesy, but the background, and tone of the movie is scary as hell. to me could be in the top 5 scary movies in my opinion.

Evil useless 2 for constructive. No evaluation. He receives his impressive shotgun, his chain-referred to arm, there is more desirable gore and monsters, and It leaves off at a large cliff hanger. I ignore what he says although this is at the same time as he places on his chainsaw arm he says some thing like "Rock N' Roll" idk although this is badass. "hail to the king infant" hahahaha
