I have a 1988 Honda Civic, when I start it drives fine for a little whiile but then it feels like it wants to turn off. But when I turn my headlights on, the car nearly turns off and feels like there almost no power in the gas pedal, the headlights are flickering and dimming out. But when I step on the brake the lights brighten up or if I turn the headlights off it seems to drive better...Can someone tell me where I can troubleshoot these problems???Please...

you could have a bad ground on your chasis so check the ground from the battery as well as it could be your alternator is going

when you step on the brake does the engine run better also? If so your brake booster maybe no good. Its allowing air to past by it leaning out the air fuel mixture. If not I check the alt first make should your battery is fully charged. Honda's are bad for the alt drawing down the idle alot check for tune up and timing set right and have the carb set up right. As it warms up and the chock comes off the air fuel mixture leans out causing the rough running. May also have throttle shafts worn out. Sorry hard to pin point without seeing and hearing the car running

probably thrown off a wheel balancer. look on the wheels and word if there are any places the position it appears like a stability weight has been yet isn't anymore. Does it make you swerve about and stress unevenly? I f so then i imagine there are thousands of people with a similar situation using round Mildenhall Suffolk uk.
