GARDASIL is for girls and women ages 9 to 26. GARDASIL works when given before you have any contact with HPV Types 6, 11, 16, and 18.

If you've already been infected with HPV, you may still benefit from GARDASIL because it is unlikely that you have been infected with all 4 types of the virus covered by the vaccine. Your doctor or healthcare professional can help you understand more.

Yeah, you can. The deal is, it protects agains the three major strands of HPV. So, even if you had already contracted one or two forms of the virus, the vaccine would still protect you against the third, lessening your chance of cervical cancer. And you might not have contracted it at all.

The only issue is whether insurance covers it. Mine didn't, and I have to pay approx. $120 out-of-pocket for each of the three shots. But I'm still doing it, because I mean, seriously. That's such a tiny fraction of what treatment of cervical cancer costs.

Yes you can, but you better hurry... the age limit is 26. It is great to prevent many types of HPV, and even though you are sexually active, you may carry some form(s) of HPV. This vaccine will protect you from other types. So it is a good idea.

My Gyno told me it costs about $400.00 and there are 3 shots, like the Hep B shots. Make sure your insurance will cover it and if not try to find a way to pay for it yourself.

Yes but get your happy butt to the doctor now if you have insurance. Insurance companies are only covering for girls between the ages of 9 to 26 years old after that you can still get it except the insurance companies will not pay for it and it is 250.00 per shot and you receive 3 shots to complete the vaccination.

You don't have to be tested for HPV and even if you have had HPV you can still get the vaccination.

I may be wrong but i think the age max age is 25 Im not sure why though...And whether or not you have had sex does not matter...and if you already have a form of HPV you should still get the vaccine because you can contract another form of HPV considering there are over a 100 strands.

It's the HPV vaccine not cervical cancer vaccine, and I don't see why not, as long as you have had a pap smear and you don't already have it because 70%-80% of Americans get it in their lifetime!

According to the link below, yes. But read carefully the info available and make sure you talk with a doctor (or two) about any risks involved.

You will have to be tested for HPV first. If you've already had it, then you cant get the shot. You can be NO OLDER than 26 to get it.
