Well you do know that your skin produces moisture and your scape is apart of that skin. If you are white that moisture will where the hair down and take the body out of it, so it'll be best for you to wash it on the regular basis. And if you're black you probably should keep the moisture it's good for the hair don't wash it on the everyday basis, it makes the hair weaker and thinner. SO GOOD LUCK

The problem may not be the gel at all but your shampoo and the frequency of shampooing. Over-cleansing your hair may actually be the culprit. The more you wash your hair in a day the more oil your scalp produces in order to prevent dry scalp and dandruff. Also, "over-the-counter" shampoos contain harsher chemicals than salon shampoos (like amonia-based chemicals) which dry hair and the scalp even more.

My suggestion, get a clarifying salon shampoo and try to wash your hair only once a day. It will be gentle enough to remove the gel and in only one shampoo.

Use a deep cleaning shampoo (only once). I'd suggest Herbal Essences "drama clean" - it works well to get rid of products in your hair. Make sure to condition, however, because those shampoos can dry out your hair. If it is still greasy after that, put a little bit of baby powder in it. It absorbs grease in hair. Good luck!

if you want a quick fix try baby powder on your roots...it will soak up the grease.
Also, wash with a clarifying shampoo on your roots once or twice a week..keep in mind clarifying shampoos can be drying, be sure to follow with a good conditioner ( apply only to the ends of your hair.)
