And what can they do about it?

Theyve got some OK defenders, but organisation is the biggest factor in defences.

Im an Arsenal fan and we have Toure and Gallas who are two of the best CB's around but we have no organisation and have leaked stupid goals.

Maybe a couple of new signings in the Window, Upson maybe, someone who can lead the back line.

I'm a season ticket holder Fred. I think timid, safety first football doesn't work. The players are not giving their all. Rommedahl in particular is a disgrace, no stomach & no heart. Charlton have more useful players languishing in the reserves than this joker. The 'directors' have messed-up large style, by failing to bring in a proper manager, ie; someone who would DEMAND the right to choose his own coaching staff, not some loser who allows Mr Murray to dictate who he works with. Dowie's efforts were beginning to work, just look at his last 5 results (ignoring the Wigan game). The chairman panicked, jerked his knee much quicker than Rommedahl ever could ! If we go down now, I will feel obliged to buy Simon Jordan a drink, and admit he was right about Richard Murray ! Dont forget, Charlton fans; all through the summer Martin O' Neil was looking for a job, and we all know why our 'directors' wouldn't consider him don't we; he would-quite rightly-INSIST on bringing his own staff with him.
So thanks Murray, Varney, Grade, et al, under your pathetic 'leadership' the club we love is falling apart.

It seems to me that the players have lost heart. They go a goal down and their heads drop.
Ironically, Scott Carson has been arguably the best goalkeeper in the Premiership so far this season, regardless of his goals conceded column.

No, and Pardew isn't doing a miles better interest than his predecessor. Charlton has had effective few spectacular spots, like the win over Pompey. yet the way it stands, the only group who has of venture at getting out of the relegation zone is West Ham, who could sneak up in the back of Wigan on the final 2d and deliver them all the way down to the Championship.

Because they have gone from one of the most stable clubs in England, with the same manager for over a decade to going to a team with Iain Dowie in charge, and now reid (whoever he is).

they have never been a good defensive side anyway but now they have no stand out players at the back. Luke young had so much promise and he has faded and they have no leader.

They could buy better players in the next transfer window.
