I just adopted Three low-income families for the holidays, I'm gonna go buy them a tree, decorations, food gift card and lots of presents for their babies..!! yay it makes my heart so happy to know that I'm in a position to help others...

I live in San Diego California, and I found out about this through the citys volunteer program (hope this helps)... and my question is.. why are YOU in the Christmas spirit??

It certainly feels great to give around the holidays. I'm a writer for Gilbert Guide (we review senior living facilities) so I am always sensitive to isolated seniors around the holidays. This Thanksgiving, I spent some time volunteering with Little Friends of the Elderly here in San Francisco, and it really did my heart good to see the difference I made in someone's day.
I highly recommend involvement with the elderly community if you're looking for future volunteer work. There's just so much need. You could deliver meals through a program like Meals on Wheels, or do something with the Salvation Army or Catholic Charities.
Congratulations again on your wonderful efforts. I'm sure they mean the world for those three families you helped.

Wow that is a really nice thing to do! It is good to have people who care like that about needy families! The thing i do on Christmas is i go to the homeless shelter and help serve Christmas dinner for homeless families! It can be really rewarding!

Only because it gives me an opportunity the think of others in need.
I encourage many of my friends to join me in buying food for a local orphanage that's running out of funds.
