my friend and i are in 8th grade. He has a brother who is in 6th grade. The 6th grader began using methamphetamine and drinking alcohol. My friend is very worried about his brother but doesn't want his brother to have to leave the family or leave for like a year. The two are very close. What will happen to the 6th grader? will he need to go to a group or will he just be grounded and very mad awhile? Please help.

He defiantly needs to tell his parents. This is extremely dangerous, especially for someone who is still growing. Chances are they can help him without sending him away, but even if they had to for a while it would be better for him to have to be away from his brother for a few months than for him to die, and be without a brother for a life time. Please encourage him to get his brother help! I'll be praying for you guys!

Wow thats really a serious problem! First off all if ur friend really loves his brother he should try to help him no matter what the consequences are. Ask ur friend if he would prefer his brother dead or alive. theres is only two paths this guys going to death or prison and u know it. If ur friend is worried about his brother leaving for a year maybe its the best thing as far as he isnt consuming drugs or drinking and causing more damage to his brain and increasing heart strokes and tooth decay which will eventually rots his teeth and lose them. please consider what i have told u i know its hard but in the long run u will feel happy knowing u saved a life.
