so here's the deal you can look at truth alot of ways. absolute truth is the honest way a person sees something happening alot of the time. the problem is that most people take what happens and alter (usually by exagerating). if it's on film , like a security camera you can tell exactly what happened (most of the time) but not why it happened.
so absolute truth, yes the absolute truth is that i just said the word **** under my breathe but as far as proving it goes i may come up a bit short.
so the real thing to realize is that when it depends on the circumstances , to say whether or not absolute truth exists.
to be elaborate a little , if i ask if you are a person then the truth is simply yes and that is the absolute truth.
Are you a bad person? that's where you start to get into opinion.
or
are you exactly 6' 1.2365" tall? that is where things start to get sticky because things change and no one knows to that degree of accuracy how tall they are. just think you can stretch your neck, slouch , or stand on your tippy toes and all of those things change whether or not that statement is true.
you just have to ask people you trust and take their OPINION as a grain of sand and not put all your faith in their absolute truth

First, one most define "truth" WHat is truth? A solid fact? Is saying something is so, and you think it to be, but it is not, truth?
Can faith be truth? If you take the first example, then no, it does not exist. Howcan you be sure of anything? You can say "I live on Earth" but scientist are exploring (silly I sayk, but hey) the possibility of people being holigrams. so, you may not live on Earth. If you where to say this, people accept it as human truth, but you do not KNOW for sure. (though I think the whole holligram theory is bs) Religion can also be included in this. Can you prove religion true? Even when miracles happen, not all believe it is because of God or some greater being. Can you prove it wrong, not really, you cannot really prove anything right or wrong because humans, even through study know so little.I mean we know what is withing our grasp a little, but what if there is much more out there, information that if we hd would change all current "facts"
can it happen? I believe that when God comes to this Earth one day, then truth will reign. God and Jesus are truth, the only truth.

well if it does it obviously can, if it can it may not necessarily exist, but by that supposition it is highly likely. personally i believe it does.this reality as i know it did arise a certain specific way, assuming the existence of some abstact "unreality" even, it too must have come into being some specific way. i happen to believe truth is the ONE thing we do not define in relation to our knowledge, senses, or perception, and therefore is capable of independant extancy The only notion that would negate the possiblity of an absolute truth existing, is the belief in the concept of nothing, which is akin to infinity in that no one can comprehend this concept, so talk of it may be entertaining but of no constructive value (apart from its entertainment value of course)
and i just looked at other answers now and i find people are defining terms and clarifying what they actually MEAN! i am in love with all of you and i dont care if i sound dinky or dorky. I knew someone in all this world besides me recognized the importance of this! i could kiss every last one of you crazy bastards!

What do you mean by absolute truth? If I flip a coin the statement "this coin is heads up" is either true or false, seems pretty simple to me. If I covered it up before looking it might be quite tricky to tell which, true or false, it was - but just because I can't tell doesn't stop it being true or false.
What's this "absolute" business? Does it signify importance? This doesn't seem to me to get rid of a fairly simple concept of truth. Its very important whether or not God exists, He still either exists or He doesn't - just like the coin either is or is not heads up. Whether or not I can tell if He exists or not doesn't alter the fact of (either) His existence or non-existence.
Does "absolute" signify "eternal"? What is this concept of eternal? The statement "the coin I flipped at time X came heads up" remains true (or false) throughout time. It's eternal. Or is it "eternal" in the sense of a generality that can be applied universally? Stick a hypothetical in and any statement is potentially true in all circumstances (most of logic is).
I do think that if you clarify the question you will solve your problem.

Common dictionary definitions of truth mention some form of accord with fact or reality. In recent decades, there is no single definition of truth about which the majority of scholars agree...
just as scholars can't agree about a definition of truth, so there is no absolute truth. After all, if you can't define, what chance do you have at it existing. Truth, to each person, means something different. I think the only absolutes in truth are in math...but that is scientific truth.

Yes, in math : once you accept the axioms, you will find the solution of a problem, meaning the Truth.
Problem is that mathematic is a Tool created by men in order to understand the physic (explanation of nature).
If the Truth existed and was discovered, there would be no meaning for science or philosophy.
Nothing to learn.
Sad !!!

A universal absolute truth may not exist. Yes, that answer is a bit wishy-washy and that is because truth like beauty is in the eye of the beholder. My truth may be absolute to me, but not you.

Yes, the absolute can exist and it Really does exist. We as humans just have to know where to get it and follow it by spreading the word around.

Of course. If there were not, then you could never logically argue it's non-existence. Because that in itself would be an absolute truth.
