A romantic night away.
Get a hotel for the night. Go there ahead of time and place scented candles, scented oils and bubble bath in the bathroom. Place candles and massage oils next to the bed. Take a radio / CD player so you will have soft music. Don't forget to take matches to light the candles.
Take a bubble bath. Serve her champagne. Feed her strawberries in bed. Brush her hair. Massage her feet. Etc......

you can just go away for a weekend together somewhere, at a resort or somewhere in the mountains, I have no idea where you live. find a spa and get her an hour massage, you don't need to get a massage, go and buy a cup of coffee while she is there if you are trying to save money, go out to dinner at a decent restaruant. don't have to spends lots of money to have a romantic get away. you can stay at a cheaper hotel, as long as it is clean, women hate dirty places, but some wine and cheese and crackers and rent a movie, or go to a place that has an indoor pool and just hang out there. get her some roses, write her a poem...go ahead you can do it, make it from the heart. she will appreciate the simple things more.........

Take an excursion train trip that has a club car and a sleeping compartment. Its a lot of fun and is relatively inexpensive. Trains are very romantic.
Have fun!
and Happy Anniversary!

For my girlfriend and my first anniversary I just did a simple romantic dinner for two. I found a baby sitter for the kids, made her favorite meal and when she got home she loved it.

1. try to recreate your first date(if possible)
2. make her a romantic dinner with candles and maybe your guys song playing(if you two dont have a song, then maybe her fav cd)
3.take her out for a night on the town...nice dinner, a movie, then maybe dancing
4. maybe a night at a nice hotel, with rose petals on the bed, order some roomservice, a nice bubble bath, give her a full body massage

When my 1st anniversary rolled around we were pretty poor. So we got each other cards. My husband bought me a dozen roses (I think he borrowed the money :) we ordered take-out, watched our wedding video, looked at the album, got a baby-sitter and made out. It was cool.

get her to play the "what if" game and fantasize about what you would do with a million dollars, and listen carefully to her answers and read between the lines and what she really wants is bound to come through. Usually these things can be touched on without costing a fortune and she will appreciate the fact that you took the time to find out in such a way, and that you really listened to her. That is worth a lot.

Lord help you there, dude, I have no clue! Perhaps make sure that rose petals and candles are involved. Or google "foofoo romantic ideas". Congratulations.
