What are her interests? Start there. When you take the time to understand her interest, it shows you are a caring person.
Does she like music? How about a CD.
Would she wear a scarf? Those are nice, too.
A gift card to Barnes & Nobles, if she likes to read.

You know whats always good for the bf's mom ? Hand soaps and lotions from Bath & Body Works. They arent too expensive and there are usually great sales during x-mas and everybody loves them.

How about a gift card to go out to dinner and some movie tickets? You can't go wrong. Or maybe some candles or bath and body products. How old is she?
