Here's what I would use in the blanks inside the (), including a better word selection for number five and correct spelling usage where needed:
1. In our environment class, we learned that in much of the United States, the topsoil has been badly (7. eroded)__ by natural forces.
2. She gave us a clear, detailed, and (9. graphic)__ picture of what is likely to happen if we fail to come to grips with the pollution problem.
3. As we fought the forest fire, we were practically (19. stifled)__ by the extreme heat and heavy smoke.
4. The President's powers in foreign affairs are limited by the fact that any treaty he may negotiate must be (17. ratified)__ by a two-thirds vote of the Senate.
5. When the inexperienced swimmer realized that he was in very deep water, he panicked and began to (8. flounder, though I would use the word thrash instead) __ about wildly.
6. According to Greek mythology, the Sirens used their remarkable singing voices to (6. entice)__ unwary sailors to watery graves.

I sincerely hope that you are a mom and not just looking for getting out of doing your homework yourself.
