Are there any graduate scholarships for US students attending foriegn universities? I have been looking for some time, and I'm already at the school. The few available are for students who generally do not already have advanced degrees (I already have three) or under a certain age (I'm in my mid 40's). I'm in Scotland, and the UK provide almost no funding for students not from the UK or EU, and the only other scholarships available are highly competitive and given to very few students. I could some help for this year and next year as well.

Most funding for graduate work is provided by the particular institution, in the form of fellowships and assistantships. There are some fellowships in the US that are applicable worldwide, but these are *extremely* competitive, and yes, they are generally targeted for recent undergraduates and young scholars (usually under 30, with no advanced degrees). Woodrow Wilson, Cooke, Fulbright, Javits, Marshall, Mitchell, Truman, Udall, Rhodes, Carnegie and NSF all have these restrictions, I think.

I really think you're out of luck on this. The fact that you already hold advanced degrees is, ironically, your major disqualification.
