if it has been close to 7 years will it drop on the 7th yr or will it drop of on the 7th year after it has been paid?

Go to freecreditreport.com and get your free report from all three credit bureaus. Then you will have to look at each individual item and and dispute anything negative true or not. The credit bureaus then have to verify that those items are in fact delinquent etc... most don't respond. Keep doing this over and over until your credit is reasonable. It will take a few months.

It will generally drop off six years after it was incurred, however the credit reporting agencies are quite slow when making any updates, so don't take that as an exact time frame.

yes, do what chuck said there...also stuff pretty much wont just go off your report after 7 years, you must pull your reprt and ask for it to be removed..dispute, dispute, dispute!

Depends on what it is. If it is an unpaid bill, it may never driop off untill paid.
