The psp comes with the ability to connect wirelessly, but you have to have the wireless signal. You have to have wireless internet available in the same manner you would for a laptop. So, if you do not already have an internet connection and a router in your house, then, yes, you're going to have to pay to be able to connect to the internet.

as long as u have wireless internet in ur house, u dont have to pay for it besides ur internet service for the house
