The longest war in American History ?

The Philippine-American War, 1899-1913 (usually tied in with the Spanish-American war). Over 4300 American soldiers were killed in an action that is very similar (militarily) to Iraq. A relatively fast "hot" war, followed by years of insurgent battles.

It would have to be the Revolution...1776 to 1783.The war of 1812 was 2 years.The Civil War was 1861 to 65.Spanish American War was 2 years.WWi was 1917-18.WWII was 1941 -46,Korea was 1950 to 52,Vietnam was from 1964 to 1975 but it was a "Conflict".I guess Vietnam to be technical.Iraq is going to running a close second soon.
