A lie is just generally not telling the truth, or not telling the whole story. Of course, if you are telling lie to keep a party (or something along that line) secret, I suppose that's morally acceptable.

Well, it depends on how you define truth..

First, truth is something that is correct in its own sense whether it can be proven over by facts or not. Facts on the other hand is a claim that can be proven scientifically over and over again... Why am I saying this? Simply because a lie is a claim or a stand that is exactly opposite to a fact or a truth.
