Bump the timing back a couple of degrees and road test. If it goes away your good to go loss of power will be unnoticeable. If that does not work check your trans shift point some Ford are set low. Just had a thought did you change the tire size this can cause trouble too. One last thing you can try if your car wise is to warm the engine up get a 2 litre bottle fill it with water. Find a way to get the water into the intake. As the car is running bring the engine revs up and slowly drip the water in>Key words are "SLOWLY " and "DRIP" if you stall out the engine and too much water goes in you could kill your motor. But this could help burn any carbon that has built up in the cyls. Again if this is over your head do not try it you could destroy your engine. You could try a gas additive but that will take a couple of tank fulls. Good luck hope I helped

There is a knock sensor located on the engine block.

This sensor senses knocking, it retards the ignition timing as necessary to stop the knocking. When the knocking stops, it returns the ignition timing to normal.

This sensor has either failed or has been disconnected.

Sounds like you've been throwing parts at it hoping you stumble across the problem. This used to work in the old days before the computer controlled engine management systems. Now days, there are too many things to go wrong.

You need to connect a scan tool to the computer diagnostic port to verify. Better yet, bring it to the Ford dealer. They have mechanics that specialize in Fords and will quickly diagnose the problem so you don't spend any more unnecessary money on the problem.
