I was 116 lbs before my pregnancy and I am now 122 lbs and I am almost 20 wks. some people gain about 40 lbs during pregnancy but the normal is 26 - 34 lbs..I personally usually gain between 24 - 29 lbs!! If you are concerned about your rapid weight gain..consult your doctor! but don't cut down on eating..eat when you are hungry..you're pregnant CONGRATS & DON"T WORRY!!

I am 17 weeks and 5 days. I started out at 160 pounds and now weigh 173. I am concerened about the rapid weight gain because at first I gained 3.5 pounds, then in 1 month I gained 10! But all my weight is in my breasts and stomach, and my doctor has not said anything about it. I try to eat healthy, although sometimes when I don't feel well I eat whatever is handy. I think we are both fine, and just make sure you are not eating fast food and 10 brownies everyday. Its hard to accept the weight gain, its so against the norms of society, but for once, lets not worry and eat when we are hungary and know its for the better of our child!

I am at 38 weeks and I've gained 20 pounds. The doctor doesn't seemed worried or anything. But people saying "eat your pregnant" No, you aren't eating for 2. You should take an extra 2000 calories a day for your baby. Keep that in mind and you should be fine!

Wow girl, I bet you look cute Pregnant. This is not un-common. You're getting close to halfway, so you are actually on the right schedule. I wish I weighed 128 lbs. LOL. I'm suppose to be due in June and I'm 12 weeks. Congrats to you!! Now, if you feel like you are gaining way to much, just talk with your Doctor. Believe me, they will let you know your limitations!! Good luck.

well that is a lot of weight gain in the last month, but don't worry about that, your pregnant so it don't matter the weight u gain. eating don't have nothing to do with ALL the weight gained. the average weight gained durring pregnancy is 30/40 lbs. don't stress it. the only thing u need to stress is after the baby is born tryin got get all that baby weight off...i'm still trying :(

Nope, its normal. you have growth spurts and so does the baby. Some months you'll gain a pound or two, and others you'll gain 10. Its okay.
Your doctor will warn you if you're putting on too much too fast.
Ive put on 45 pounds in 8 months, and i still just look like iam wearing a pregnancy suit, since all the rest of me is skinny, and my boobs and belly are big. If you eat only when your hungry, and eat only healthy foods in moderation, your body will only put on the weight it needs. Even if it seems like a lot.
Ask yoru doctor if you're concerned.

nope pretty normal, you should start to gain a pound a week by now,. usually on average a small woman will gain 25-30 pounds. but 35-40 is normal too for an average sized woman! if you stay at this rate you would gain 37 pounds- COMPLETLEY NORMAL!!!!!!!! I gained 37 with my first and after I had him I only had 10 pounds to loose- which i lost in no time( i breast fed so it was easier too!)

my best friend is pregnant right now too and she was concerned she was gaining too much too fast. she went to the doctor because she was worried and sure enough she had excess amniotic fluid. this is not very common, but it can be harmful to the baby. she has to have weekly ultrasounds to make sure everything is all right. she has gained about 50 pounds during her pregnancy and has 2 months left.
that probably isn't it-- but it's worth checking for.

Just keep a balanced diet, try not to eat sugary, salty foods. But you should gain about 35lbs total at the end of pregnancy. Keeping active will help.

While you are pregnent you should not be making decisions about your weight. Dieting and over eating can be very dangerous for you and your baby. This question is one that you need to refer to your doctor as soon as possible. They should be able to guide you to be sure that you keep a healthy weight during your pregnancy.
