AMD, cause it is a true 64 bit processor.. Unlike the Intel.. Yay.

Okay in answering this let me clear up some things other answers said. The second answer, I have heard this crap a lot from AMD fans, and let me say that both processors use the same technology to achieve 64 bit processing, and there is no such thing as a "true" 64 bit processor as opposed to I guess a fake 64 bit processor. The third answer, the Intel is faster, it is faster if you have 1 thing running or if you have three things running, faster is faster, they are both dual core. The fourth answer, actually they have been for the past 3 years, but that has changed since the Core 2 Duos came out, try to keep up. Fifth answer, Core 2 Duo in question = 34 W, Turion 31W, not a real big difference.

Now as for which is better, performance wise the Core 2 Duo is better, but the Turion will most likely be a little less expensive. Either one will be good, so just decide what is most important, pure performance or cost.

The first one is better. The line of processors from Intel are quite impressive. Although Intel has been doing well in the mobile processing area their new process is no doubt amazing. I have ran benchmarks on both processors and the Core 2 Duos almost always come up on top.

The Intel chipsets consume more power then AMD, and that is a fact. It doesnt matter which is faster, It depends on what you are doing with it that makes the difference. Each processor has its advantages and disadvantages.

ive always been a fan of AMD but yeah as the other person said the first 1.
but it depends on what u are going to use the machine for, if your just going to be running 1 main application then the 2nd, but if your going to have many programs going all at the same time then the first one.
