What's the best brand for external or portable hard drives?

I was thinking about getting a Maxtor, but I was wondering if there are any other good brands out there

fujitsu,its used even in important big telecom equipment as storage HD.

You can get a "lemon" in any brand at any time. Best to purchase from a good dealer who offers good support. I think you will find support as important as the price.
