I can understand wanting to appear taller, but not putting up with the deleterious effects.

helps me feel prettier, and it gives me a small boost of confidence. plus it then puts me at or above eyes level to most guys and that just makes it easier for me to tell them what for when they try to tell me where a woman belongs!

Heels are more comfortable to some women. They project a certain image as well.. flats can look "dumpy" or unmade... They make you stand up straighter, even a one inch heel can improve someones posture.
Personally.. I can walk all day in 4 inch heels and be comfortable.. but if I wear flats for even an hour, my feet hurt.

It really has nothing to do about being taller. Did you think that it makes her look professional are makes her outfit complete. so it not just the heels its the person who wears them and what they wear them with

FASHION is first to most women the look is top priority then pain and suffering comes next. Women have to make a fashion statement if it is possible.

High heels make your legs look longer and more toned. They are, also, more professional looking than most flats.

I love wearing heels, an they don't hurt my feet, and I have no corns of weird looking toes.
