If you can get your hands on a pressure washer, take the carpet out and hit that thing up with a pressure washer.

Vinegar is supposed to help with odors, You could try using the vinegar to scrub the carpet.. dump some on, scrub a little, let it set a few mins, then blot with a towel to soak up as much vinegar as possible. so you could put a bowl of that in the trunk and let it set awhile, but don't forget about it and drive around with it in there, might make a mess!..Baking soda is meant to absorb odors too, they have fridge boxes in some stores, where you can open the side of the box. i would get a box and put it in the trunk for awhile. . If those don't work, you could try Charcoal brickets, like you use for the bbq grill, but just the cheap kind, don't put the ready lite kind that are treated with lighter fluid.. that might be bad.. If all else fails, you could try putting some coffee or something else strong smelling in there to help cover the odor.

Your trunk carpeting should come out, take it out and wash it in the driveway and let it dry.

That should take care of most of the smell.

Spray the metal of the trunk with Fabreeze before putting the dry carpet back in .Leave the trunk open and in the sun to help dry and air it out.

My son dumped 3 gallons of paint in the trunk of my Honda and using this method, I got my carpet and trunk all clean.

Clean as best you can, then use Atmosklear -- it's this awesome spray that will take the odor out of anything, it just has to come in contact with the source of the odor. You can get it at Ace Hardware and other places.
