So why do many (not all) but Many of you who claim to be straight, say things like- "I'm not lesbian, but I would SO do Angelina Jolie!"?
(or insert any flavor of the month female celeb)

No, no- We're not talkin' simply acknowledging a woman or man's beauty. That's pretty common.
I'm talkin' when some of you guys say you'd DO em too.

I just think it's a way of saying "that person is attractive, but I'm not sexually attracted to them". Some people just take it to the extreme or to be funny. Or maybe they are speculating who they would find attractive if they were homosexual. Just keep an open mind. I do know straight men that have said something like that. It does seem a little odd, but I suppose that they are comfortable enough with themselves that they don't care what people think of them or their sexuality. It's all a matter of personality I suppose.

Oh, dude, I've said that, and I'm definitely not gay. Women are allowed to be a lot more fluid about this sort of things than guys. You want to do Brad Pitt, and you are a pansy and less of a man. I want to do Angelina Jolie, and, at worst, I am trendy and desperate for male attention. At best, I am a completely logical human being.
I think it also has to do with girl crushes. I don't know if you guys get these, but it's fairly common with girls. It's a total crush on a friend or someone you admire who is female, but it has nothing to do with actual, erotic love. It's more a deep, heartfelt admiration that manifests itself as a crush. When I say that I would sleep with Ms. Jolie, I'm really saying that I think she's beautiful and an awesome person and I wish I was more like her.

Well I am straight and I have never said I would "do Angelina" but women do view each other differently than a straight man views another straight man. We can say things about each other that are normal in the areas of physical attributes and things. That is just how we are.

no longer unavoidably. at an identical time as the two heterosexual women human beings and gay adult males are going to finally searching for a male important different, this would not quickly propose the allure is the comparable. turn ons and offs are a private question, so no 2 human beings could have the comparable reaction. no longer 2 as we communicate women folk, a combination, or 2 gay adult males will agree on what's a determining actual or psychological decider for them,

Well, I do claim that some female celebs are hot, but not have sex with them. I have heard guys and read some on here say that some guys are hot. I think it is our infatuation with looking good or looking like certain celebs is why we say this. I think some say it just to try to turn on our other halves. I know I do this to my boyfriend and he's all like, "Go for it! Just as long as I can watch or join."

I think girls (and maybe occasionally women), say things like this because they think guys like to hear it. Lesbianism has become so fetishized (by men) that girls think it is a way to be more attractive to men. I see girls all the time in clubs "freak dancing" one another, when I know (because I know them) that they are straight, and would never have a "lesbian encounter" of any sort. They do it for attention.

I'm straight but I read in a Cleo magazine that women think that women are more attractive than men are.
ie. Women are more beautiful than men.
There was an old quiz who would you rather sleep with Michael Hutchence (God rest his soul :) or his then girlfriend Helena Christensen.
90% of women voted for Helena.
I don't think women are all gay :) It's just women are more visually pleasing and take better care of themeselves than some men.
In addition - alot of women used to be attracted to Angelina's personality.

You hit the nail on the head. They "claim" to be straight. Women thinking about other women in a sexual manner are not acting 100% straight.

A woman can admire another woman and not be gay, just as a man can admire a man and not be gay. I can look at a woman and think she's beautiful without wanting to take her home.

I think it's because there are so many women that are willing to experiment, so they make it known who they would or wouldn't do. Or better yet who they would let do them. There are a lot of straight women that wouldn't do something with another woman, but they would let a woman do something to them.
