I don't even have kids, but I agree with you. This society is backwards, and this is only one example of our nation's "greatness".
I have disabilities (I'm not talking about the physical type) and I see people and think they're idiots!

Yeah, Bush will personally take the time from being the most powerful man in the world to read a letter from some dope in Canada saying he's a really great guy and write a detailed response. Seriously dude. You won't even get a letter from his minions, you'll get a form letter generated by a computer.

I don't think that we should ever stop worrying about any child. We should worry about all of them. Unfortunately, it seems like we put more attention to the foreign children than children at home; however, I think equal attention is necessary. We shouldn't, after all, restrict love and care to people closer to home - it should be universal. =)
