Whatever you do DO NOT USE HOT WATER! The heat from the water will just make the wax melt even more and it will be harder to get off.
The easiest way to remove candle wax is to hold an ice cube over the wax until it is quite hard, almost frozen. It won't take long, as wax freezed very quickly. Once you have done this, take a brand new razor blade scraper (an old one may damage the glass) and lightly scrape off the wax and VOILA! all done.

put a piece of paper over it, place an iron on low heat on the paper for about 45 seconds, remove the iron and pull the paper away. The paper will absorb most of the wax, then just use your normal glass cleaner to remove any residue

Scrape the wax off with a straight edged razor blade or box cutting razor knife.

Try this ----- Heat up a large pan of water on the stove --- Place the item in the hot water to melt the wax ---- Then pour it out ----- Let the remainder cool down --- Then place the container in the freezer to freeze the long strip of remaining wax -- After it has been "frozen" ---it should release itself with a little help and fall out in large chunks-- if not the whole thing. +++Spock+++

Scrape it off with a blade very easy to do then wipe with cloth and warm water and a little fairy liquid or similar. Then polish as usual with furniture polish.

DONT USE HOT WATER it will make it melt and dry even harder. use a blade and carefully scrape off OR get a piece of ice and set it on it. it will cool it off and u should be able to lift it off!! no harm to the table. if u use a blade it can scratch the table!!!
