The GM is just a former cashier or fry cook just like you are now. They have been working there a little longer. They dont make any more. What, $9/hour? They get paid nothing bc they know nothing. These are not the ppl that got out of management school.

Not all GM's are bad. Just because you see a pile of applications doesn't mean that those people are the people you want to work with or can work the hours that you need crew in your store.
The GM's job is a hard one especially if the GM is doing things the right way and cares about both her crew and customers. It is an underpaid, overworked position that is really thankless. The balancing act of taking care of corporate responsibilities, community responsibility, customer and crew concerns as well as demanding hours is difficult to say the least. You typically spend anywhere from 50 to 60 hours a week in your unit...hiring, training, ordering, scheduling, dealing with new products, promotional items, repair and maintenance of equipment and building, and all the advertising stuff that you see all over the store. Then add in the personalities of your crew and customers, delivery guys (or gals) and your repair folks...
To be honest most of the Management staff is promoted from within, and are not college educated (although many companies have tuition re-reimbursement and encourage their managers to go to school) but they are trained and have earned their positions the hard way...some are better than others. Just as in any job anywhere in the world. The turn-over rate in fast food system wide is about 340% . How easy would any job be if they put an entirely new staff 3+ times a year?
It's easy for you to look in the office and see a "pile of appilications" and assume that your manger is stupid. I'll bet she is working the drive-thru or the grill or pushing orders at the front counter while your enjoying your well-earned break, or leaving for the day. In stead of saying she's stupid why don't you try to help solve the problem? Or do you just prefer to whine?

Boils down to money. How much money do you make? How much do you need for bills? What's left over? Your GM has that for the store. They are responsible for the company's money & how it is used. They screw up & get fired then they can't pay their bills! It costs money to train & hire someone. If they don't work out as an employee - the money got wasted. I find that asking straight out is the best answer. I suggest asking " are we going to have any new employees soon?" The GM might ask why you want to know. Just say it seems like we need more sometimes. The GM might take this oppertunity to see your opinion. Stick by it. The GM might just say yes or no or I'm working on it. If you hate your job it's time to find a new one ASAP. It will continue to brew & eat you up if you don't. Good luck!

You actual might want to make that call. good customer service is the biggest element to any employer that deals with the established public. we are all shoppers in some element, and function particular expectancies. We even the most elementary customer service desires are not met, we take it in my opinion. (some more advantageous than others, of route.) the authorities at Carl's Jr. must have dealt with you with a similar recognize and courtesy that he gave each and anybody else that day. as a replace he insulted you, leaving you feeling like you've been one way or the different a lot less of a customer as someone who ought to have spent twenty money for your 2... Your dignity is efficacious.

She got it either because she knew someone or did someone higher up, and or she works the hours no one else wants. Their all the same, so get out ASAP and find something more worthwhile where you can grow.
