Lee. Lee was by far a better strategist, logistician, and organizer than Ney. Ney certainly was a combat leader, inspiring great devotion from his troops, and a good tactician, but generals need more than that. Anyway, Lee certainly inspired an equal amount of devotion, and his operations at Chancellorsville and the Wilderness show clearly he would be the tactical equal of Ney.

I'm not even a huge fan of Lee, but given armies of equal strength, size and training, Lee!
