I see lots of really old newspaper strips still in the local paper. Gasoline Alley, Blondie, Dick Tracy, Henry, etc. So which one of all of them is the oldest and when did it start?

Toonopedia has histories of all these strips and more. I know Blondie is over 75 because they recently had their big anniversary. Look up each entry on Toonopedia and compare.

The oldest is a strip from the 1800's that is still in syndication called Katzenjammer Kids.

Another good resource is the comic timeline at http://www.factmonster.com/spot/comicstimeline.html
