I think the setting definitely would play a great part in who would be victorious over the other. Rambo is highly trained in a rural jungle setting where he served his country in Vietnam. He is very crafty when it comes to Ranger work (i.e. tracking, setting traps, hiding in plain sight, using the resources available to him in the jungle). James Bond strikes me as more of a city dweller who relies upon decision-making in populated areas and relies on specialty gadgets invented for him by Q to get him out of trouble. Obviously those gadgets give Bond quite an advantage. I say that Rambo wins mano a mano, but the edge goes to Bond when he can simply use weapons and gadgets to subdue Rambo.

Bond. There's a different James Bond everytime you turn around. Rambo is busy out boxing Mr. T and everyone else.

John Rambo won't be able to rip James' head off because James will get out his pen and inject 1000grams of morphine in his arm.
James Bond the winner!

Bond. Much smarter, much more broadly trained. Bright enough no to get within Rambo's reach.
