You must respect and trust your parents. Be glad she cares enough to ground you. You should stop and think about why she is grounding you, why she thinks your friends are bad, and what you can do to improve your situation. Even if your mom is wrong in grounding you...and being too harsh....she is the mother and deserves your obedience and respect.

You missed three days of school.. you deserve to be grounded. The no christmas presents is a bit of overkill though. But you should be in school because arn't is really spelled aren't.

You say these friends arent bad...then why did they manage to convince you to miss 3 days of school? I was grounded for a month once for not telling my parents where I was going. It all depends on the severity of what you did and the parenting style they have. It seems like a long time assuming this is the first time you have done something like this, but I don't know your past from what you wrote. You disobeyed them and you have to live by their rules. Use the time you are grounded to think about it and prove to them that you are genuinely sorry about what you did.

LOL!! I am sorry but that "grounded until ground hog day" is a good one. I have a 15 year old myself. Look the only reason your Mom is so angry is because she knows how important school is..just looking out for your future. I know you think that's just blah blah blah from an adult and it will be a LONG time before you get "old" but, real life happens faster than you think - believe that..it happened to me! Stay in school and be careful who your friends are!

I was grounded for 9 months... Halloween to summer - it was horrible. and it was also because i got caught cutting school and that my parents didn't like my friends. I look back now and see that my parents were right about them... they really weren't good people. i didn't think so at the time though. It does seem like a mean punishment but use this time to get involved in other things. I'm sure that if you were more active in school driven after-school activities your parents would be happy and would let you out of the house for events and meetings. its also good bc then you can meet other people and grow new friendships with all different types of friends.

Follow the rules and you don't get grounded. You're not old enough to make decisions for yourself.

No it's not overkill, you skipped school and now you're punished. Stop whining and accept it.

You got off easy. Lose those "friends" of yours, before there are greater consequences.
