Detroit is in the central time zone of the United States and San Diege is in the Pacific time zone

People living in cities such as New York , Atlanta , Philly and The whole east coast of the United States are living in the Eatern Time zone
Going West the next time zone you encounter will be the central time zone Which is ! ( one ) hour behind the eastern time zone
cities such as detriot , B'ham and as far west as the state of Utah are in the time zone
Still going west the next time zone is the mountain time zone The only city I can think of in this time zone isdenve r Colo. This time zone s 1 ( one ) hour behind the central time zone and 2 ( two hours ) behind the eastern timr zone
Going west the next zone is the one I live in the pacific time zone states such as Nevada , Calf. , Washington State , oregon are in this zone which is ! hour behind the mountain zone , 2 hour behind the central zone and 3 hours behind the eastern zone
If you continue west ( either by ship ,plane or by balloon !!!!! )
you would encounter the international date line where on the eatern side of the zone it is sunday and on the wetern side it is already monday

Yup. Detroit is three hours ahead of San Diego. Detroit is on Eastern Time and San Diego is on Pacific Time, and there are two time zones in between (Central and Mountain).

Detroit is eastern time, San Diego is pacific time. Michigan is three hours ahead.
