ok so i have never taken huuuuuuge attempts to make my self look amazing on a new years before. that's cos i was overweight an no amount of effort could make me feel hot, especially when every new years was spent around chicks that looked like models in fancy dresses! anyway this year i have lost 30 kilos and bought a hot dress of my own! i wanna look amazing, but i need some makeup tips! My dress is hot pink and black......what colour makeups do i use? i was going to get pink eyeshadow, but then what about the lipstick and blush etc? or should i do like silver eyeshadow? i don't want to look stupid lol. so can someone who knows what they are talking about give me some advice on colours of everything and any hints on how to do any of it!! thanks :o)

You could do dark smoky eyes and a very natural looking pink sheer gloss on your lips.

What color are your eyes and skin tone? I would go neutral. Try a shimmering pale pink and a little darker pink for the crease. Add black or slate eyeliner. Use Black mascara. Use an eyelash curler first before you apply the mascara. What I do is heat the eyelash curler with my blow dryer and test it in the palm of my hand to make sure it's not to hot. This helps set the eyelashes when you curl them (just like a curling iron for your hair). Use a soft pink blush. Use a makeup brush and blow the excess blush off the brush before apply it to your checks. Apply the blush to the "apple" of your checks ( draw a line from the middle of your pupil down to your check and that is the apple - when you smile it's the check bone that stands out) and a little upward toward your temples. Use a soft pretty pink lipstick or better yet use the lip ink with a clear gloss over it. Or a shimmery gloss over the lip ink. Cover Girl has wonder full colors and isn't heavy on your face. I have tried them all. I prefer Cover Girl, just my opinion. Almay is a good brand as well. Good Luck and Congratulations on loosing the weight.

i would go with black eyeshadow, or dark grey. make sure you highlight the bottom of your eye and the part right under your eyebrow with some lighter eyeshadow, like white. it'll contrast the dark shadow more. maybe you can put on some pink eyeshadow between the dark part and the white part underneath your eyebrow. and then use liquid eyeliner on top, pencil eyeliner on bottom, and some mascara. then you can use some pink shade of lipstick. put another coat pink lip gloss on top. and a little blush, but be careful! dont use too much and dont use too little! you'll look stunning! just try the makeup with your outfit maybe a week before just in case. just dont do it the day of! then there wont be any time for back up plans! and remember, if you buy the products at a place like rite aid or walgreens, a lot of the time you can return it after one use and tell them the color is incorrect. i've bought the wrong colors for way too many times!!! have fun with it, and good luck!!! =)

I say you go with the smoky eyes and glossy lips. You don't want to over do it by using pink eyeshadow or having pink lips! Since your dress is a hot pink color (bright) then your makeup should be a bit subtle. If you're not too sure about the smokey eyes, then you can use neutrals like a peach or apricot color for your eyes.

Okay, first we need to know what you look like. I see your avatar has black hair and green eyes. So I am going with that.
A smooth complection first. If you are broken out with pimples at the time, try and get a Clinique stick of makeup (slim stick that you twist and get make-up out of. Its medicine inside helps zap it.) After that blend it. Then Feel Natural. Ask the attendent to match your tone perfectly [1 shade lighter than normal shade] The sheerest way is to use a brush. Apply all over to make the skin nice. For a natural look, put a bit of bronzer evenly over. Blend into the hairline and neckline. Then take a light pink blush and apply to the apples of your cheeks and to your forhead lightly. Take a large blending brush and lightly brush it over your face to create a soft look. Your face is done so move onto eyes. I like to start with lids first. For green eyes, beige-brown is natural. However, to match your hot pink and black dress, apply light pink shadow all over your lid. Then, blend into the crease a rich brown. On the browbone, that light beige-brown. The green will sparkle. Lips, try a sheer lip gloss that will stay on all night. I like a sheer low sparkle pink. It looks really nice but for long lasting, try Covergirl. No lip liner, but chapstick before the gloss. u don't have to match ur makeup perfectly.. i might suggest a pinkish/purplish eyeshadow... make sure u have a Light shade and a Darker shade for the outer crease to create Depth.
pink eyeshadow can work too... just not too heavy!
i like black liquid or pencil eyeliner applied like so: after u put on eyeshadow, tilt ur head back and w/ ur eyes stare downwards into the mirror. apply pencil/liquid liner to inner corner of the eye, trying to stay as close to lash line as possible. go across and when u get 3/4 of the way, go Straight and Upwards slightly, to create a cat-eye effect. apply lots of mascara on Top lashes, and a White Highlighting shadow or pencil (in gold, silver or white) to Lower Lash Line.
u will need some blush, to contour ur cheeks. not too heavy if u are going to use pink gloss lipstick. if u are going nude or light on the lips, u can put more blush on.

Wow I am a lot like you. I don't intend on start wearing make up ALL the time, so I went to the mall. The department stores like JC Penny's Dillard's exct., have ladys waiting for girls like us. They give you tips as they put make up on you. Make it clear you are new to this, so they don't cake it on (happened to me once). Get a lipstick you like (start small). Don't buy a large collection of this color and that (since I hardly wear make up they end up drying out, going out of style, or givin away to my fam & friends (basicly a waste) ). So i suggest asking they lady that does your makeup where the make up in the cases are (or go to Target, Kmart, Walmart). This gives you a veriety of colors that you can play around with untill you find out what looks good with your skin complextion and good for special occasions. You are right silver eyeshadow would look good & pink lipstick. be carefull to not put too much makeup on plus you dont want to feel uncomfortable. Hope this helps.

I sugest you use a smoky eye for your eyes and use a light blush. Since it's New Year, you might want to put some sparkles on your cheeks and above your eyes. But remember not to overload. Instead of wearing lipstick I sugest you wear a long lasting lipgloss in a nude color. I hope it comes out great!

I would say pink, silver and black eyeliner. No blush. Wear a pink lip liner with a gloss. You will look fab
