Does anyone understand why Shades atack "evil gate" cost 8 mp when the other attack only cost 2 an hurts alot more????its boiling me up!!!!

it was a very unbalanced game - you have to realize that the seiken densetsu series was just starting, and they just moved from a zelda-like appearance in "final fantasy adventure" to the way that secret of mana looked on snes.
i never actually used shade, and it wasn't because you got it so late, i just rarely used magic in the game. i was quite disappointed in how fast the game ended, compared to other games of the time. i never got a chance to master most of my weapons, and didn't even realize that i was in the last fight til i beat the game.
evil gate is supposed to hit multiple enemies, but really isn't worth the time to cast it - there are other spells that do just as much, or weapons that can be used faster
