Windows XP Pro/Firefox, with occasional IE/0. Zero times a day. And that's running across multiple machines in my home office.
I would be worried if my machine was crashing that often.
Clean your reg, defrag, run virus/spyware scans.
Upgrade your memory if you're running under 512 megs.
And dump IE 7. Not saying change browser completely, but 7 still has a long way to go before it's a very stable browser.

Your hardware, operating system, program(s) running and what drivers you have installed impact your crash rate.
My "crash rate": Windows XP SP2 (newest drivers) / Mozilla Firefox / 0 times per week
If I run uTorrent, iTunes, World of Warcraft and FireFox all at the same time it probably goes up to 3 times per week.
As a Windows 2003 server system administrator I probably have 1 crash per month on the 40 most heavily used servers. . . mostly due to crappy applications.

Win / IE 6 / Never
A computer that is running properly should never shut down or crash (as in completely quit working).
