since you asked about a home remedy, please grow a plant aloe vera....and apply the gelly of aloevera to the sun exposed areas. The liver function should be proper in your case.....you can also eat a half teaspoon of aloevera mixed with sugar every day morning for 15 days....and give a gap of 15 days and then eat again do this atleast for a year.....your liver gets stimulated to release sufficient fats for your skin......

use kalisulph 6x .......4 tablets (chewing) 2 times a day till you get rid of the problem......this is a biochemic available with homeopathic stores in your area.

As someone with olive skin toned, I also experience "staining" which is areas of hyperpigmentation that appear as black spots when there is acne or any injury present.

The best treatments are a strong BHA (betahydroxy acid), such as salicyllic acid. You must use a good sun block. Some people are proponents of the "asprin mask". Crushing aspirin and mixing with glycerin, clay or honey, and applying it to the skin.

Additionally, the old standbys are lactic acid- aka sour milk; lemon juice, and any other product that produces exfoliation.

If your skin is sensitive and has a lot of sun damage, your fastest option is to go to a dermatologist and get a laser treatment for the spots.

Regardless of the treatment you use, you have to wear a high sunscreen DAILY.

As an aside, there are many products on the market for skin lightening, with varying degrees of burning/efficacy. An expensive one that is not harsh, is Darphin. You can visit their counter at Neiman Marcus or another higher end dept store.
Their clarifying line, removed sun circles under my father's and mother's eyes which was created by their glasses. Darker skin was removed and their skin tone normalized.

Best of luck, expecially with sun damage.

PS - water, not smoking, and some blood purifying herbs could also be a helpful adjunct to any theapy.

The best products are papaya kojic and licorice base soap and cream which are available online. These work wonders. Maybe it will work on you too. Try searching it through Google 'shopaholic's bargains'
