I did last year, because the big event here is the family party for all the kids. I enjoyed it because my daughter did, but other than that I'm not big on company parties. I just don't make friends too easily with coworkers for some reason and I'd rather not be in a place where I feel uncomfortable.
Besides, who wants to get drunk with people you have to work with every day? :)

Dragon has to go. She works for a small company, and would be noticed if she were absent, and then her boss might call her late at night to tell her that she should have been there.
This happened to Dragon when she ditched out of a company event to go see Pirates of the Caribbean 2 with her brother. Her boss reelly did call to say she was "disappointed" that Dragon wouldn't be going, even though Dragon had said she had other plans that had been made well in advance of knowing about the office event.

I became unemployed just so I did not have to be pawed by the medical director. He always gives his hungover apology the next day, so that makes it all better!!

Sure. Had a good time. Good way to see your co-workers when they let their guard down and have a good time.
