i accidentaly got glue on the zip of a suitcase, any ideas how i can get it off without damaging the zip

Re-heat it with a hair dryer and pull it off

Saturate a cotton ball with acetone nail polish remover, place on the glue area until disolved.

Depends on the glue.
regular glue, get and ice cube, freeze it and start chipping. Heavy duty glues usually have some kind of solvent available in hardware stores.

You could try some of that stuff you get with super-glue, you dab it on and removes the glue.
