Tell me all the differences and if you can, list a source. The $300 one, I think is called a "core system". What does this mean? Does it mean that it just doesn't have as many features?

I understand it comes with wired controllers- I do not mind that because I can buy wireless ones. The thing is will I still be able to do all the same stuff. And just save my games on a memory card??

The $300 one is called the the "core system" because it comes with only the Xbox 360 and a wired controler. It has only the basics or "core" products you need to play. The $400 system comes with all of the core products, plus a wireless controler instead of a wired controler, a hard drive, a head set, a remote, better cables to play on a HD TV, and a three month subscription to Xbox live. I recommend the $400 system because it cost a lot more to buy everything seperate. Also the hard drive alone is around $70-$100. If you buy the core system, you will not be able to save any games unless you purchase a memory card or hard drive and a hard drive is much better. You can store music and a lot more things on a hard drive. It is almost like a computer hard drive.

the core has no hard drive and comes with a wired controller

the premium has a 20 gig hard drive and comes with a wireless controller.

******The answer to your additional comments is NO. You will not be able to download extra content for games without the hard drive. Xbox live and all of its features is one of the best selling points of the system. you need a place to save the content or other games you will download; YOU NEED THE HARD DRIVE
