The Pastor of my church got married on Christmas day last year. It was surprise for the congregation and their families. He called a friend of his in to join in the service. The friend (who was also a minister), said that before the sermon starts that there was some business that needed to be taken care of.Pastor stepped down from the pulpit and his fiancee walked up and joined him. The visiting minister then pulled the wedding bands out of his pocket and came down as well and conducted the service. There wasn't a dry eye in the church. It was beautiful.

Pastor Lawson said it was the best way to celebrate with all his loved ones.

Yep. My cousin got married on Christmas Day. We have a very small family so it was expected that we all attend, so we did. It doesn't bother me now, but it did then because it was my daughter's first Christmas, and instead of all the Christmas stuff I wanted to do with her, instead I was getting wedding clothes ready, getting to the church, worrying about the reception, etc.

I guess it seems really romantic (it sure does on t.v.), but in reality I think it messes things up for your guests.
